A week of dragons, measuring and performances.

This week we performed our assembly which we all really enjoyed. It’s daunting getting up on stage in front of the rest of KS2 and parents but they all did really well.

In maths we’ve been practising more subtraction strategies. I will make a video which will hopefully shed some light on how we are teaching the children to subtract 9 and 11 from a number. The aim is for children to be able to do this in their heads quickly. Working things out on the number line is a good first step to this happening.

In literacy we wrote more of our non-chronological report about dragons. We will be finishing these off next week.

We have moved on to thinking about the human body now in our project. We’ve had some fantastic questions and discussions from the children about muscles and bones.

In art today we made a start on our portraits of our mums or people close to us. We will get some water colours out next week to add colour and finish them off.
